Nawt W Exceedingly gripping from the first opening scene onwards, this show's high concept, cinematography, and soundtrack create an amazing thriller that we unfortunately will never see the conclusion of because British television is some kind of intensely competitive rooster ring. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/24/23 Full Review Kev K Funny, violent and addictive. Great television with an almost perfect cast, and the question "Where is Jessica Hyde" will stay with you for a long time. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/14/23 Full Review Tilly C i really liked the part we realise that utopia is actually dystopia Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/01/23 Full Review Glockta The Russia flu, the China virus, it can put all the bullshit of Covid in another light. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/24/23 Full Review Larry H Squeezing everything out of a low budget production is only possible when everyone is on top of their game from the acting, writing, directing, editing and on and on. Marvelous series. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/28/23 Full Review Jacob N This show is undeniably perfect in its genre. Scene duration and framing are executed with a precision of a swiss watch - always exactly as long as necessary to express a plot point or develop a character and no further. The camera will remain in a seemingly awkward position to express the magnitude of action or the minimalism of a character. The music by Cristobal Tapia de Veer is offensively fitting. There's a reason this was his breakout performance. [I don't know a lot about music so forgive my ignorance for a second]. He utilizes ululation [oh a choir maybe] and chopping of vocals [mixed with a guitar, synth, piano, sitting in a note on percussion orchestrally, a calliope? a vuvuzela??] from the scenes to produce some of the most haunting and exciting soundtracks that are to the credit of the producers, mixed in largely perfectly. There isn't a typical reliance on a melody for many of his songs. No scene is overburdened by a blaring soundtrack competing with the actors, nor is the soundtrack relegated to the intro, cutscenes, or so quiet as to give a sense that the audio mixer gave up. The plot is hard to get into without spoilers. It's a conspiracy show, where each cog isn't entirely aware of how they fit into the machine. Not that unique admittedly, but the execution is what sets this plot apart. Further, the vision of a 'utopia' and the underlying philosophy trigger some machiavellian zeal in the 'network's' participants as the shady organization is mostly bound together by this set of ideals. There's just enough explanation to appease but not too much to have obvious plotholes which detract from the story. My tip for watching this show is to try your best to set aside your biases about current events and realize this show came out in 2013.
