How do I get to Living wyverns? ›

Getting there

For the Living Wyverns in the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon: Go to the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon resource dungeon, either using the Port Sarim lodestone, fairy ring code AIQ to Mudskipper Point, or teleport with the Hoardstalker ring or Dungeoneering cape (0,8).

It is not worth attempting to kill them without wyrmfire potion and antipoison++. If you stand in melee distance, the wyverns will only attack using melee, so it is recommended to use short range melee weapons, pray Deflect Melee and to barge between kills.

Location. Go to the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon, enter the skeletal wyverns' cave, and go to the south-west corner. There will be rope in a hole in the floor, descend down the rope and that is where the living wyverns are.

Antifire potions will have no effect. Although skeletal wyverns are highly resistant to range attacks, players commonly attack them using range via the door safespots by trapping a skeletal wyvern on one side of the cave entrance and ranging it from there only after they become tolerant.

Habitats. These creatures were typically found in areas that were favored by dragons, such as tangled forests or large caverns. Many were known to inhabit the Forest of Wyrms, as well as the Cloak Wood forest. On the Chultan Peninsula, wyverns were a common sight in the jungles of the nation of Samarach.

The wyvern is thought to live to at least 100 years old, with one example reaching the grand old age of 158. As babies, wyverns are brown and spiny. Adults are green or green-brown in colour, with a paler belly and wings. As they age, some develop lime green spots.

As the wyverns are draconic creatures, dragonbane weapons such as the dragon hunter lance (on the pound/swipe stance, as wyverns' stab Defence is rather high) and the dragon hunter crossbow are the best choices to kill them swiftly.

Spitting wyverns are Slayer monsters that require a Slayer level of 66 in order to be harmed. They reside in the Wyvern Cave on Fossil Island and are the weakest of the Fossil Island wyverns.

Baby blue dragons are small blue dragons that are found in Taverley Dungeon and are the weakest attackable baby chromatic dragons. Players require the dusty key to open the gate leading to the blue dragons or have 70 Agility to use the pipe shortcut.

Wyverns will only spawn when the player is above a certain altitude (see Space § Notes) and is outside of the Crimson, Corruption, and Dungeon biomes. Wyverns will not spawn during events, and having at least one NPC near the player will also prevent them from spawning.

How do I get to ancient wyverns? ›

For Slayer tasks, you can use the Magic Mushtree adjacent to the House on the Hill teleport location to appear just north of the task-only Wyvern Cave under the Mushroom Meadow. Alternatively, the player can teleport to the Digsite, use the barge, and run east past the bank and then south-east into the cave.

Although it is insinuated in Tarn's journal that Skeletal Wyverns are undead, they are in fact re-animated remains, whereas actual undead creatures have come back to life.

Because skeletal wyverns are considered to be draconic creatures, they are weak against dragonbane weapons. Therefore it is recommended to use a dragon hunter crossbow or dragon hunter lance if any of these weapons are available.

The lance increases both accuracy and damage by 20% when fighting dragons (excluding Elvarg and revenant dragons) and other draconic creatures, such as wyverns and the Great Olm. This stacks multiplicatively with both Void Knight equipment and the Slayer helm (i).

During the fight, it is recommended to always maintain at least a super antifire potion and Protect from Magic, or a regular antifire potion and a dragonfire protection shield. Whether to have run on during the fight is a matter of preference.

The common processes of obtaining a Wyvern Egg can be divided into Stealing or Snatching, sometimes both. Stealing allows high-level wild Wyverns to keep laying new eggs for players, while Snatching is a safer way provided that sufficient combat power is being put against pursuing Wyverns.

Defeat the Wyvern Matriarch after nightfall in Verdant Brink. She can be reached via the pact chopper that spawns in the last 20 minutes of night fall, near the Pact Encampment Waypoint. Make sure to break her defiance bar when it is up to stop her from flying and deal massive damage to her.
